Popularity is not probability
When users repeatedly create the same matchup, it tells us something interesting about fan imagination and bracket behavior. It does not prove that the matchup is likely in an objective sense.
A rivalry such as Brazil vs Argentina or USA vs Mexico may be simulated often because it is emotionally compelling. A final such as Argentina vs France may appear because users recognize the recent tournament story. Both are useful signals, but they should be labeled as community simulation trends.
What to compare
Compare the most popular matchups against your own bracket. If your simulation avoids all of them, ask whether you have found a genuinely different path or whether one group result is doing too much work.
Test this scenario
Open the simulator, adjust the group results, and see whether this article's bracket logic survives your own picks.
